Adopt a Basset Hound
Thank you so much for considering adding one of our retired or rescued Basset Hounds to your home.
* CURRENTLY, WE DON'T HAVE ANY RESCUES AVAILABLE *
We never know when we will take in a Basset Hound looking for their furever home.
Sometimes we get five to six bassets in a month, other times, none.
The BEST way to get on our list to rescue is to fill out the adoption form.
If you have a Basset Hound you need to give up for any reason, we take them all.

We regularly rescue and re-home bassets from situations where they aren't properly cared for.
We love and protect our breed!
Cost of Rescue
Houndful hearts does not charge a re-homing fee or adoption fee.
We ask that you consider donating to Veneta Veterinarian, P.O. Box 215, Veneta, OR 97487 (#15346).
Monies will go to help offset the enormous cost of treating the next rescues that come into Houndful Hearts.
Our Vet bill runs about $50,000 a year. We appreciate in advance your consideration of a donation to the "cause."
After Rescue
Once you agree to adopt one of our rescues, you will be asked to sign a document attesting to the following:
I understand that I will be completely responsible, physically, emotionally, financially, and socially for this dog until the end of his or her life. I also agree to NEVER sell, give away, rehome, or breed this dog. I understand that if need be, for ANY REASON, all moral judgments set aside, that I will return this dog to Houndful Hearts at my own expense. I also agree that if this dog is not spayed or neutered upon receiving the dog from Houndful Hearts, that I will have that done and a copy of the certificate will be sent to Houndful Hearts. We recommend spaying AFTER the second heat for females and 18 months for males. We also HIGHLY recommend this dog being put on NuVet daily, under age 8 just the NuVet, over 8 add NuVet joint. Both can be found and ordered via our website: www.HoudfulHearts.com
